About Us

Welcome to Flippo Construction Company, Inc.

Flippo Construction Company, Inc. (FCCI) is an “EMPLOYEE OWNED”
general and heavy construction business operating primarily in the Washington
DC, Northern Virginia and Baltimore MD areas. The company was founded in 1971 by
B. Earl Flippo and in our years of operation has grown from a small utility
concern to one of the major players in our area’s heavy construction
industry.

On January 1, 2000, the employees of FCCI purchased the Company from Mr. Flippo
thus transferring the Company to its new owners…”THE
EMPLOYEES.” Today Flippo Construction Company is a full service General
Contractor with 250 employees, 44 trucks and 60 pieces of heavy equipment,
providing a safe and quality product to our customers.

Flippo’s Operational services consists of Heavy Construction, including
Bridges, Concrete Structures, Roadway and Site Work. We also provide utility
installation, repairs, and long-term service/maintenance contracts for the major
utility providers in the Washington Metropolitan area.

Our typical customer and revenue profile generates a mix of about 45% public
works, 40% quasi-private contacts and 15% private respectively. We consistently
self-perform 70% of our work, and have the capability of performing Heavy
Demolition and Earthwork. Our Estimating Department currently has the bonding
capacity to bid or negotiate jobs as a Prime Contractor, Subcontractor,
Design-Build Contractor and Construction Manager.

We believe strongly in both our motto and our mission statement, which is the
reason for their prominent display. Our team concept of management is successful
because our employees understand that their contributions are fully recognized
and rewarded. Our concern for their safety and having the best resources
available for the professional completion of our projects is paramount in
management’s oversight of the company’s progress. Our Human
Resources Department plays a major role in obtaining the best-qualified
employees, training them and looking out for their safety by constant evaluation
of our field operations and job sites.

We are proud of our company, its people and our past performance and we look
forward to a successful future.
