Estimating / Purchasing
The Estimating Department of Flippo Construction Company is headed by Executive Vice President, Brian Flippo. He is responsible, along with Chief Estimator Mike Ramundo, for determining the proper mix and volume of jobs to bid, based on backlog and projected resource needs.
The estimating team at Flippo is comprised of 4 estimators and a purchasing agent with an average experience of 20 years in the business. Each estimator has a particular area of expertise that enables the company to bid many diverse projects, using a team concept. In addition, Flippo has recently bid Design-Build Projects for MWAA, the Army Corps of Engineers, and NIH.
The estimating team has been using an automated estimating package for the past 10 years, and currently is using the Heavy Bid for Windows version of HCSS software (Heavy Construction Systems Specialist).
